Vendor Information

Want a booth in a unique holiday market this season?!

I’m Lamont, a kid from Milwaukee you’ve met somewhere along the line while doing neat stuff in the arts, environment, community, or making! I’m a screenprinter and have vended at many maker markets over the past 10 years, including having a regular spot at the one and only Milwaukee Makers Market.

City of Makers creator Lamont Smith at fall ’23 edition of Milwaukee Makers Market

I’m launching a craft market series on Saturday, December 6th, 2025 at Wisconsin’s Black Historical Society from 11am – 4pm.

The storied and local gem WBHSM is located in Milwaukee’s Amani neighborhood at 2620 W Center St., Milwaukee, WI 53206 (27th and Fond du Lac Avenue).

This opportunity is for crafters, artists, writers, personal care product makers, accessories, food and beverage products (original branded goods), designers, doll markers, apparel brands, quilters, jewelry makers, candles and home goods, ceramicists, etc…

This holiday themed market will highlight Kwanzaa, but not be limited to it.

* This craft market is not accepting requests for promoting nonprofit, advocacy, medical or social services organizations. Absolutely no solicitors (ie no one will be allowed to promote their organizations, business or social services who has not been assigned a booth, at the expense of the market vendors).

You want a booth?

Booths will be $30 each and 8 ft wide and 6 ft deep in size. A limited number of tables are available (1 per vendor) and can be requested through the sign up link.

Following review of submissions, I will send booth confirmation emails on a rolling basis that will also include a link to pay the $30 booth fee.

Fees will be paid through Venmo, CashApp and Paypal. Other payment arrangements may be made on a case by case basis. No checks will be accepted.

Booth fees must be paid by December 1, 2025, or your booth may be offered to another vendors on the waiting list.

In honoring the maker movement and the tradition of cultural crafts, I’m focusing on handmade, original design/authorship, or unique value-add products (combination of goods or inputs to make a new product), rather than retail or resell of mass produced items. This also includes  fine arts, folk art, literary arts, and vintage etc… so long as it’s heartfelt, unique and produced or curated with love and care.

In the tradition of Kwanzaa, gift giving should have meaning, purpose, reflect personal expression, demonstrated skill, educational or cultural value, or otherwise enriching health, physical or mental well-being, rather than mass produced consumer goods that are bought for their monetary value, or purely for leisure, recreation or status. Participating in this market is providing people who value “making”, and higher vibrations around gift giving, an unique outlet to support local creative talent and a sustainable economy.

Most of all, this is the first of what I envision to be many City of Makers Craft Markets in the years to come!

Please do reply with any questions, and please do forward this announcement to anyone you think may be interested in vending or attending! Here’s my email cityofmakers@gmail.com.
