We’re featuring 25 plus artists, crafters, makers to offer you unique and locally made products to buy for your friends, family and loved ones.

Why a makers market? Simply put, Milwaukee has many talented creators who spend their time and energy developing and mastering craft processes to make products to offer you as alternatives to mass produced, mass marketed and impersonal items sold by major commercial retailers. A makers market provides an outlet for creatives and skilled artisans to meet people like you and make magic and memories that naturally come when passionate people do business with each other.

Ever been to a craft market? This is a scene from Milwaukee Makers Market 2023.

A makers market is different than a “swap meet” or rummage sale. Makers develop their products themselves in hopes of launching a successful enterprise or other times as a demonstration of skill or a passion for a certain craft tradition. Makers use materials and/or apply ideas (in the case of artists and authors) and make a new product or work, rather than simply buying someone else finished product and selling it at a markup. This means that all of the dollars from sales go directly to the artist and stay in the local economy.

You will pay a little more for handmade craft items, but you’ll know where it came from and how and why it was made, and keep the dollars in our community, which are somethings we should all give more of our attention.

Interested in vending? Head over to our Vendor Page! Or submit your request for a booth directly to the Holiday Market Craft Market Vendor Form.
